Summer musings from Raghavendra Rathore
Closing out Day One of the Delhi Fashion Week was designer Raghavendra Rathore.
The collection was a comfortable line of summerwear, with light cottons and chiffons thrown together in an eclectic mix of casual and formal designs.
Kicking off the show was this neatly tailored black shirt with red highlights on the panels worn over ultra slim-fit white trousers (very hot this year!).
Breezy blocks
Next up was model Nethra Raghuraman in a flowing block-printed tunic top over sleek black trousers and killer stilettos.
Bold in black
There was something for the guys as well, like this simple black shirt over leather trousers set off by the hard-to-miss red scarf tucked into the collar.
Short stuff
Getting tres casual is this red cotton kurta over shorts. Don't miss the ultra-cool sandals!
Staying cool
Another comfortable ensemble was this loose black kurta top over cool white shorts. The plunging neckline isn't too bad either!
Going formal
Toning down the beach fever and moving on to a more formal look is this trendy yet easy-going cropped kurta top over formal trousers. Good for office-wear or a casual meal.
White magic
Model Nina Manuel struts her stuff in a summery cropped white kurta with fitted lines and flowing cotton.
Boho beat
Going retro is this flowing red kurta over black shorts. Very 60s!
Fusion funda
Rathore got a bit more experimental with the menswear like this fitted heavy cotton jacket over salwar.
Neo style!
For the semi-formal look is this beige cotton shirt over fitted black trousers highlighted by a seemingly Matrix-inspired cropped trenchcoat.
Summer fantasy
Summer dresses are not all about frills and flowers. Try a fitted one-piece in bold print cropped just above the knee for a cool yet fashionable appeal.

A becoming black shirt and bubble skirt sport metallic touches, with the silver shoes upping the style quotient.

The brightly-hued patent leather handbag in this pic undoubtedly takes away from the brown rouched dress!
Elegance of a goddess
The designers up the drama with this lovely white and gold gown, complete with headgear that might not be out of place on an ancient Greek goddess.

A severely straight sack dress is softened by the peek-a-boo neckline and feminine footwear.

Leggings are still the 'in' thing -- team a fuschia pair with deep green for a similar effect.

No, we haven't seen metallic motif capris before either, but they seem interesting. The soft green blouse blunts their effect considerably.

Seen here is a flowing pleated ensemble with striking long sleeves, which are in stark contrast to the otherwise demure pattern.

Ribbed and shredded in places, this lovely ivory cocktail number is sure to have heads turning.
